God has changed my perspective on the way I viewed children and children’s ministry.  He has also taught me how to balance my life as a Christian.  I was too busy and not taking good care of my own life.  This internship has helped me to depend totally on God and given me confidence to be myself.

It has been an amazing experience for me to work with children from many cultures such as Arabic children, Korean children, Aboriginal children, Australian children and Indian children.

I am so blessed to see this beautiful country of Australia and meet the many leaders in children and church ministry.  I have learned the importance of teaching children the gospel.  Children hear very clearly from God and we, the church, need to provide them with opportunity to encounter Him.  I have noticed amongst children who attend church regularly that many of them have never encountered God.

I have been honoured and overwhelmed by the love and care of the leaders and all the others who have provided for me throughout these 10 weeks.  It has been really amazing!  I am thankful to God and my church family for giving me this opportunity and support in prayer and provision for this amazing experience.

A few years ago the Lord spoke to my spirit concerning children and youth in the church, in the Body of Christ.  Looking back I can see He spoke to me often about this and I did not recognize what He was trying to convey.  I had a dream where the people of the church where I am currently in leadership were sitting down to eat.  The table was very large but all the seats were taken.  I noticed the children on the floor so I joined them.  One of the ladies threw down a bag of fruit at the children.  I picked it up and started to open it and she yelled out “Don’t open that yet!”  Through this and other encounters with the Lord I came to the realization that the children and youth in our churches are not being fed.

A transformation in not only the way we think but how we do children’s ministry needed to happen.  Children are vital citizens of the Kingdom of God.  We the church are starving them of the deeper things of God and one of those things is an opportunity to encounter God in prayer.  Yes, a revolution needs to take place to equip our children and youth to walk with and encounter our loving Father God.  The church’s ideals of how to teach children need to be revolutionized from ministering to children to ministering with children.  O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who has set Your glory above the heavens!  Out of the mouths of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, because of Your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and avenger. Psalm 8:1-2

This quote from Psalm 8 reveals the importance of children, even from a very early age, in our times of praise, worship and prayer.  It silences the enemy.  Yes! Revolution internship and training program is providing opportunities around the world to join this revolution.

I highly recommend the Yes! Revolution 10 week Internship in Australia to children’s leaders and those who feel the call into children’s ministry.  I have just finished the first 10 week internship and it was extremely impactful.  As a Children’s Camp Director in the United States I will be recommending this program as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with children of many cultures and to glean from leaders across the nation of Australia
